Virginia Lottery Becomes First U.S. iLottery to Launch Virtual Sports Games

The Virginia Lottery has made history as the first regulated iLottery platform in the United States to introduce virtual sports games with the launch of VSports, a new digital product designed to capture the thrill of live sporting events.

Developed in collaboration with Aristocrat Interactive, NeoPollard Interactive (NPI), and Inspired Entertainment, VSports combines the traditional lottery draw format with fast-paced, high-frequency sports simulations. The game lineup includes virtual football, basketball, and horse racing, with outcomes determined by a certified random number generator to ensure fairness.

These games run on a frequent draw schedule, occurring every two to three minutes, offering players an immersive and realistic sports experience without relying on actual sports fixtures or results.

Inspired Entertainment created the games, which were integrated through Aristocrat Interactive’s Fusion aggregation platform. The delivery was facilitated by NeoPollard Interactive—a joint venture between Aristocrat and Pollard Banknote—utilizing its established technology partnership with the Virginia Lottery.
