Hollywoodbets Officially Acquires Gold Circle

Hollywood Sportsbook Holdings, better known as Hollywoodbets, has officially taken over Gold Circle. This acquisition was reviewed and approved by the Competition Commission, which found no need to impose any conditions on the deal.

Gold Circle has long been responsible for organizing horse racing events and managing racecourses, particularly in KwaZulu-Natal. However, over the last few years, the company faced increasing financial pressure. Attendance at races dropped significantly, and betting revenues declined, making it harder for Gold Circle to cover its operational costs and invest in necessary upgrades.

Recognizing an opportunity to strengthen its position in the horse racing sector, Hollywoodbets stepped in to acquire the struggling organization. Now that the acquisition is complete, Hollywoodbets will oversee all aspects of racecourse management, event coordination, and the day-to-day running of racing activities that were previously handled by Gold Circle.
