Dr Stefan Tweraser is set to take the helm at Zeal Network SE as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, officially stepping into the role on September 15. He replaces Dr Helmut Becker, who is stepping down after a decade of leadership to pursue new entrepreneurial ventures.
Tweraser brings a wealth of experience to the German lottery provider, having held senior roles at global companies such as Google and Deezer. Most recently, he served as CEO at Rocket Factory Augsburg, where he concluded his tenure in April.

His appointment comes at a time of strong performance for Zeal Network. Under Becker’s leadership, the company not only solidified its dominance in the German online lottery market through its flagship brand Lotto24, but also adapted well to a demanding regulatory environment. He also expanded Zeal’s offerings with innovative initiatives, including the popular dream house raffle.
Commenting on Becker’s departure, Carola von Schmettow praised his impact: “He has continuously expanded Zeal’s market leadership in the German online lottery market, strengthened the business model in a challenging regulatory market and broadened the portfolio through innovative product developments.”
Tweraser inherits a company on the rise. In the first quarter of this year, Zeal reported a remarkable 62% revenue increase and achieved a milestone of over €1 billion in lottery billings. EBITDA also saw a significant 88% jump in March.
With this strong foundation, all eyes will be on Tweraser to maintain momentum and steer Zeal Network through its next phase of growth.
